Jackbook.com is one of the most visited sites on the internet but is that about to change as it appears the homepage has been slapped by Google.
Jackbook.com started off in June 2007 where Jacky, the founder, wrote about blogging tips, internet marketing and how to make money online. He then started to make blogger templates and sell them. His site grew and grew and began to make money on Google Adsense. Around March 2008 Jacky experimented with selling/buying links which are of course against Google’s regime. They slapped him with a Page Rank penalty and he fell from PR6 to PR0. Jacky never stopped trying things out and soon turned the blog from a make money online blog to a news blog which utilised Google Trends and some SEO tricks to get a lot of traffic.
In 2009 Jacky sold the blog for $75k. Quite a lot of money for 1.5 years work online. The blog is now managed by a group of bloggers whilst Jacky is setting up a restaurant.
You can see the traffic statistics for Jackbook here. As you can see the site is currently sitting at 42, 293rd. However the site has been hit by a Google penalty and is not showing up in the Google SERPs.
Is this just a temporary thing or a permanent one? Jackbook will definitely see a decrease in traffic and therefor a loss of earnings. I have a feeling it’s to do with the poor quality of posts on the site. They have been quite spammy and Google may have finally cottoned on to the poor quality of the posts.
Shortlink:
what’s spammy about our posts? We posted on movies and tv shows just like whats on your site.
In fact, many other sites copied our posts because we always had fresh content.
What happened is that we included a pop-up from Clicksor that apparently had some malware fake antivirus ad and we got punished for it.
If Jacky indeed bought and sold links, that may another factor keeping us from getting back up.
Yes, we were deslisted but your reasoning is dead wrong and insuations that are posts were spammy even though you posts on very same topics is a bit unfair, if not, hypocritical
On your site there were multiple posts promoting the same episode. It was as if you had rewritten the title to try and target as many different keywords as possible. I’m not going to lie, a lot of my posts will seem rather low on content but they are still useful as they actually have working streams. This is just my opinion and of course you’re allowed your own, different, opinion.
I hope that you get back up the rankings and I greatly respect your site. In fact, I made my site because I was in awe of how popular your site was despite focusing on one particular niche. I made it to try and replicate the success you have had.
Cheers
