Orange have finally released a date for when the iPhone will hit the shelves in the Orange store. Reports are suggesting that the iPhone will be released on Novermber 10, just one day after O2 loses its exclusivity with Apple.
Rumours suggest that over 200,000 people have already registered their interest in purchasing an iPhone through Orange although those people who are hoping that a price war is going to kick-off may be sorely disappointed. Technology experts have shown that it would not be in any of the major network’s interests to sell such a high-demand good for a low price. Orange have confirmed they will not try and start a price war with O2 until at least after Christmas. To increase the value of their iPhones they will, however, try and bundle in some accessories and applications with the handsets.
So finally a date has been set. Things are finally moving at Orange but it does come with the bad news about the pricing. The iPhone will still only be a luxury item which only a small number of people can afford.
Apple is finally on Orange!
