Tiger woods hysteria spreads

Tiger Woods, (now former), world golf champion has been taking the world by storm but not because of his golf. He’s been CHEATIN’ (apparently). We’re going to have to make a new category on newsknot.com especially for everything Tiger Woods.

November 26th, 2009. Everything was perfect. His career was going well and was a loving husband to his rather beautiful wife.

November 27th, 2009, he has a (minor) car accident close to his house situated in the gated community of Iselworth, Orlando. He was leaving around 2:30 am in his SUV when he hit a hedge, fire hydrant and then a tree. The crash was not alcohol-related according to the Florida Highway Patrol. He was taken to hospital for minor injuries and was later charged with careless driving.

The incident uncovered reports and speculation that there were problems with him and his wife, Elin Nordegren. Elin had apparently used a golf club to smash the rear window of the vehicle to help get him out. In a statement, two days after the accident, he declared that the crash was completely his fault and the reasons were private. He then announced he would not be playing at his own charity golf tournament, the Chevron World CHallenge, or any other 2009 tournaments.

The accident fueled interest in The National Enquirer who published a story two days before the accident claiming that Woods had an affair with nightclub manager Rachel Uchitel. A claim she denied. In Woods’ statement about the accident he said, “the many false, unfounded, and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible” which added suspicions.

Interest in the story continued to grow and San Diego cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs revealed in US Weekly gossip magazine that she had been having an affair for the last two and a half years with Woods. She produced voice and text messages that Tiger Woods had left her. She said she first met him in April 13th, 2007 in Las Vegas and continued to see him until October 2009.
