We’ve all seen Apple’s adverts for the iPhone.
Plain white background.
Cheesey upbeat music.
Hands which just look too good.
So lets take a look at Bell’s Palm Pre advert aimed at their Canadian customer base:
Now lets look at an original iPhone advert:
Similar, very similar. Now does this show lack of originality or does is it meant to show something else. Supposedly the ad is supposed to look like an iPhone ad, up until it says “But it doesn’t stop there”. After that point it highlights the advantages the Pre has over the iPhone including a physical keyboard and multiple ads. It’s a subtle way of digging at Apple without actually mentioning the iPhone. Clever advertising I say, although it appears that from the responses of people they are seeing the similarities to the iPhone ad as a negative.

I think the iphone ad is much better anyway, the music is better but i do think its just copying the apple ad as it has been rather successful for them and Bell want to get in on it while having a slight dig at the same time… its a good advertising strategy
