WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs 2009 Preview

Yep that’s right folks, it’s about time for this month’s WWE PPV and it’s likely to be a good one. The event is being hosted live at the AT&T Centre in San Antonia, TX, on Sunday, 13th December at 8PM ET. Being a PPV, this event will cost you but of course we will be showing the event live and free.

So what matches are going to be happening for this show? Below are the matches we know about but check back later for more updates:

The TLC Match for the Unified Tag Team Championship: Big Show and Chris Jericho take on D-Generation X

What are the match rules? Of course being a TLC match, the guys fighting have gotta use the weapons available. The use of chairs, ladders and tables are actively encouraged. The fighters will have to use a ladder to climb up to reach the titles which are hanging over the ring.

Match Background: Shawn Michaels and Triple H have never been tag team champions, despite being some of the most influential wrestlers. This match was organised by RAW guest host Jesse Ventura.

Table match for a WWE Championship title: John Cena (champion) vs. Sheamus

What are the match rules? If you want to win this event, then you have to smash your opponent through a table! It really is that simple…

Match Background: Sheamus enjoyed earning this title deciding match by defeating Finlay and then winning the Breakthrough Battle Royal.

Chair match for the World Heavyweight Championship title: The Undertaker (champion) vs. Batista

What are the match rules? Regular match with chairs being a legal weapon.

Match Background: Batista beat Kane through count in the #1 Contender’s match by using a chair.

Ladder match for the ECW Championship title: Christian (champion) vs. Shelton Benjamin

What are the match rules? Fighters must use the ladder to grab the title which will be hung above the ring.

Match Background: Christian challenged Shelton as he wants ECW to steal the spotlight. This’ll be a good match with both fighters having been part of some amazing ladder matches in the past. They are both hot fan favourites.

Intercontinental Championship title: John Morrison (champion) vs. Drew McIntyre

Match Background: Drew won this title match by defeating Morrision.

Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton
Match Background: At Bragging Rights Cody Rhodes attacked Kofi in the back of a car after Team Raw were defeated. Later that night, Kofi interrupted Cody’s fight in Randy’s title deciding bout vs. John Cena. Orton blames Kofi for costing him the title. At Survivor Series, Team Kofi defeated Team Orton.
